Today I continued the fuse comparisons. My second SACD player is a Marantz SA11-S1. In this player the power fuse is not consumer replaceable(the fuse is hardwired at the factory). It does have 5 rail fuses. I inserted the Isoclean fuses and tried both directions. There was a small improvement in one direction. I did not feel the change was worth the price of 5 fuses. Next I inserted the 5 Synergistic Research fuses. I heard an immediate improvement that was significant to warrant the price of 5 fuses at $59.00 a fuse. Pink Floys's Meddle(the new James Guthrie remaster) sounded great. The electronic base notes were better defined. The spacial imaging was more 3-D. Next I listened to a Pentatone SACD of Haydn's Piano Trio's. The cello which has a lesser part was much clearer. Again the 3-D imaging improved, giving a better feel of a trio playing in the room.
In summary the Synergistic Research fuses made a significant improvement when installed at other locations beside the main power fuse location.
