I assume you mean the modded C7 adapter for that project does not apply to your particular DIY power cord project, and that you are simply concerned about a DIY power cord project that involves a regular IEC connector with its ground contact removed for use with a non-grounded unit that has an IEC inlet without a ground pin (C18 IEC inlet). If that's the case, you do *not* need to remove the IEC connector ground contact, since if your SACD player has an otherwise regular looking IEC inlet *however* without a ground pin (C18 IEC inlet) the power cord interface will simply "ignore" that aspect. As such, any regular IEC power cord will function just fine and safe with a unit that does not feature an IEC inlet with a ground pin.
