In my main listening/home theater room i have behind my seat a wall where there used to be a foe fireplace with (see pic) fake bricks & some 12"x12" mirrors. There is also some rug where the fireplace used to sit. The room is 16'x17' and stereo does'nt sound too bad, but i cant help but feel the mirrors might be ruining the potential for better imaging. I am thinking of getting some 1"x12"x12" sound absorbing panels. I need a total of 26, but 24 will cover all but the 2 mirrors next to the floor. I was thinking of putting up a rug (nice navajo 5x8) which would have covered all the wall behind the listeners heads, but a search said this would only absorb mostly mids & highs. I do not want to lose mid/highs, just hopefully gain better sound/imaging. What does anyone think? Good idea/bad idea? Thanks for any help.Tom
