My equipment stand is like yours. The Neuance is difficult to find nowadays and don't want to damage it so installing the spikes point up is what I'm going to do. I'm going to get those previously mentioned from Madisound. They are removable so I'm pretty sure they will be fine.I can see that they could hurt your hand under certain circumstances. I'll be careful.
