Bybee purifiers and other 'tweaks' in general

I would like to make a general statement about 'Tweaks and Mods' because there is quite a bit of controversy, even today, as to whether sonic differences caused by 'Tweaks and Mods' actually exist, or are just figments and illusions, due to flaws in our perception or outright hucksterism by people out to make a quick buck.
I have tried to keep an open mind to even 'outrageous' gizmos, and sometimes I have been very surprised when they really worked, at least for my associates and me.
On several occasions, I have gone into a demonstration, fairly sure that I would hear no difference, but there it was! Was it my imagination? Maybe. Was it explainable? Maybe. Were the people doing the demonstration, hucksters? Probably not. I could probably count on one hand the number of hucksters that I have encountered doing Tweak demonstrations.
Of course, like New Age Medicine, it is quite possible that something can be essentially faked, and still advertised and sold. Just look at TV ads for this. Yet, not everything in New Age Medicine is fake, and often it is subtly brought into traditional medicine over the years.
Please remember that vitamins were often considered controversial, a century ago, for example.
Now, what about the critics of 'Tweaks and Mods'? Many are long term skeptics who find little value in just about anything outside their PERSONAL belief system. Sort of like the hard core atheists in religious circles. Or just the opposite, hard core believers in their own religious belief system, much like some of the clerics of various faiths, now and in the past. They just will NOT tolerate anything outside their belief system.
Now what does that matter to people here? Well, reasonable skepticism is good, why believe everything put to you? However, do people who don't believe in 'Tweaks and Mods' in general, have some sort of right to harass and make fun of those who do? This is important, because that is exactly what happens here and on other websites, and it wastes time, energy, destroys reputations unfairly, and keeps people from trying something, themselves, without fear of criticism from these same 'critics'.
I know, for myself, that I could not maintain a good reputation for quality audio design, if I did not listen to what my associates and I hear as differences between passive components, for example. So I will carry on believing in what seems to work, even if some others think it all some sort of illusion.
