RE: Question for longer term users of Millenium CD mat

I’ve been using the Millennium on my Marantz 8001 and SA-7S1 for a couple months now, and personally I don’t listen to a disc without it. When I first started using it on the 8001, it would occasionally (every 15-20 discs or so) cause some chattering noise when it first started spinning, but since I started paying a little more attention to centering it, I haven’t had a problem. (Note: Even though it’s the thinnest mat I’ve tried, it still won’t work with those damn Dual Discs. Fortunately, I don’t own a lot of them.)

Sonically, it’s the best mat I’ve tried, and I’ve tried a few. I posted some impressions a while back here on AA. It’s also considerably less finicky than some other mats I’ve owned—especially the Marigo. If you’re willing to cough up the $119, I say go for it. It may not have the same effect in your rig as it does in mine, but if you buy it from a place like Music Direct—which carries it, I believe—you can always return it within 30 days if not satisfied. Hope this helps.
