RE: DIY/household vibration isolators?

Check out the DIY stuff on TNT-Audio.com's site. They cover things like ordinary hardware objects. There were at least a couple available items that might work.

Key here is isolation, not coupling. So soft absorbant materials might work best bewteen them.

You can always try to mock up a stand that puts them on separate shelves too, if you're so inclined. Eventually you're going to need to do something on that order.

See if you can find one of my older posts with pix on how I DIYed stands out of copper pipes and fittings. The same can be done easily and cheaply with PVC pipes and fittings and this is just a cut and paste job. You can make up a stand with 2 shelving levels, put each unit on its own shelf and use isolation or coupling or other vibe controls on each shelving/unit level. This isn't as hard as it sounds in that sentence! I don't know if your home has room for this, but it's worth considering.
