IME, a PLC's ability to increase dynamic range, whether it is a balanced power conditioner or an AC regenerator, greatly depends on the output capacity of the PLC and if one is taxing the output current or running it near full current capacity, then dynamic range will suffer.
As long as there is plenty of headroom in the PLC's output capacity to accomodate even the largest current swings then you should get all the benefits that AC regeneration and balanced power has to offer.
I run both true AC regenerator's and high current balanced power conditioners and found that when I replaced a PS Audio PP-600 with a Platinum Power PP-1 high current AC line balancer that the balanced power unit gave the system a much more relaxed/musical sound due to the fact that I was bumping up against the PP-600's output capacity.
With the PP-600 in another less demanding system, it sounded much more relaxed so pay attention to how much current demand you will be placing on the PLC and try to leave a healthy margin of headroom.
