Can cables with active shielding sound better with regenerated power?

The answer is yes it does!

On a whim today, I moved the Synergistics Research mini power coupler that provides 30VAC to the SR REL SPEC subwoofer cable, of which was recently upgraded to Zero capacitance active shielding and given the Quantum Tunneling treatment, from the balanced power conditioner over to the Walker Audio precision motor controller where it is sharing power with my CD player via a PS Audio UO banged onto the output of the WAPMC and damned if it didn't make a marked improvement in background blackness/stillness which provides improved soundstaging and transient decay.

Yes I did a quick listen of the CD player now being powered with the UO on the output of the WAPMC with the MPC moved back to the balanced power conditioner and the results quickly showed a reduction in the above mentioned attributes.

This has me thinking about the SR demo I heard at CES where Ted had his new Enigma PS powering the shielding on the cables in that setup and how dramatic that demo was when he switched between the 2 tubes that power the shielding circuit. Just goes to reinforce that power does matter, even down to the smallest of duties.

Cheers,
