Nice suggestions. I'd also like to chime in and note that it's also important to observe proper routing of the wire. When running my dedicated lines for the 2-ch room and HT rooms, I used expanding polyurethane foam (lowest expanding form) to secure the wiring through the holes in the wood studs, and also used poly pipe insulation to space the wire from the wood. This same poly pipe insulation was used to space the wires well above any metal plumbing or ductwork, which also had the advantage of dampening vibrations.
