Of course, most preamps / sources have a low enough z-out, and most power amps have a high enough input-z, thus minimizing this potential issue, but it IS worth checking.I'd guess that these have a pair of matched and cascaded passive RC 1st order filters. Which is as much as we can get away with passive wise.
I note that the OEM does a range of these LP's and HP's, this is GOOD news.
?
Well, my spkr/room response has a bit of gain at the actual BDS point of ~>200hz - 200 is one of their 'stock' options! And, I'm adding another matching pr of encl's with the same bass driver!
And, 150hz, which they also stock, might be a bit low! Probably have to try BOTH, eh?
I wonder if they'd do one-offs, though?!
I'd love a pr of 2nd order LP's at 180 or so!- for BDS EQ/compensation.
BTA I could just buy any LP pair and experiment with SMALL R's and C's myself!!?? perhaps using a stepped filter.
And thus, we come to the issue of what sort of R's and C's the OEM uses!
Is it possible they are 'audio' quality? / Could they be replaced with 'better' items, that are STILL small enough!?
