It appears to be a y configuration noise filter. It is nothing like the Hammond or PE filter. I plugged it into the first outlet in the daisy chain. I finally removed it...the sound was good, but the video on my plasma display got very weird...washed out and green...don't ask. As for sound quality, it adds a little foundation in the bass and a little extra definition in the mids...nothing to go nuts about, but if you are interested in a Quantum style product, it offers a similar effect for a lot less. The video actually started out very nice...add 3D look, etc, but mt plasma goes nuts whenever I add parallel filters into the loop the first few days...nothing new.
