Re: Yes you're right & I haven't tried the Silver/Oil NT

I take such reviews with a grain of salt. I read the Chinese 21-Cap review as well. If you dig into the net you'll find other reviews that prefer the Silver/Gold to the Silver/Oil.

Prior to ordering the Mundorf Silver/Gold I solicited opinions from manufacturers, distributors, users, and Mundorf. One fellow owner of an Atma-Sphere MP-1 pre preferred the Silver/Gold to the V-Cap. A speaker manufacturer tried the Silver/Oil and felt it sounded discontinuous. A few others felt the Silver/Oil was unreliable-- due perhaps to its rating to 50 degrees C vs. the Silver/Gold rating to 85 degrees C. Mundorf believes the Silver/Gold is more natural sounding and neutral than the Silver/Oil. There is a slight overdevelopment of midrange bloom engineered into the Silver/Oil. Perhaps the Chinese reviewer enjoyed this characteristic. Right now I'm breaking in both Silver/Gold and V-Cap in several coupling applications & they both sound great. But the V-Cap is extraordinary.
