Re: I'm blind and use an isolation platform

I am also blind (blind on one side, mostly blind on other side) and also am lacking coordination (limited motion and no feeling in hands). I am using a DIY platform on roller blocks, with sorbothane footers on top, and lead shot bags on top of CDP. It did take some getting used to the platform swaying when bumped. I only play CDs, so handling vinyl is not an issue. I only play duplicates of my CDs so I don't damage the originals. I have wonderful family and friends that help me manage this addiction. They built my DIY isolation platform, set things up for me and even typed this.

I use FIM roller bearings. Once set up there is no adjustment or tinkering. The don't have very much travel so the sway is minimal.

The platform itself is a 7 layer composite of Plexiglas, aluminium, butyl rubber, MDF, butyl rubber, aluminium, Plexiglas.

It sounds like your location is challenging to set up with major traffic and a subway. A combination of the suggestions posted on the Asylum really should help.
