As has been pointed out, your transformer hum is most likely being caused by DC riding on your AC line.When I switched from unbalanced AC to a precision balanced power transformer, the hum emitted from the power transformer in my Pass Labs Aleph 3 amp was completely eliminated. It is dead quiet now.
If balanced power is not an option for U, there R products on the market specifically designed to filter DC from your unbalanced AC line. One such product is the PS Audio UPC-200HB.
