Anyone try to convert their CD player to battery powered?

It's a project idea that just popped into my head. I read an article about Red Wine Audio's amps being powered by Sealed Lead Acid batteries, and thought... hummm... CD players would be naturals for this conversion: one battery pack for the analog section, another for the digital section, throw in a few caps and shielded power wires and voila! Total isolation from AC!

I'd be careful not to bypass the fuse of course, but I guess getting soldering points for both power sections might be complicated depending on the layout of the components and PCB.

I think I'll investigate further and report back...

Meanwhile, I'll entertain any idea, opinion, caveat and the like from the gurus.

Cheers!
Eric B.
