Jon: I'm happy you saw and responded to my post

Jon:

Your website proved very valuable to me during the design stage of these cables. Thank you very much for your dedicated efforts. In fact, it was that information and the many satisfied inmates' testimonials that inspired me to try building my own cables in the first place.

I did use your twisted, spaced pair concept, but I selected 1/8" diameter teflon tubing as a core so that I could cram the entire twisted pair inside a 3/8" diameter teflon tube which spaces the ground away from the conductors, and provides a lot of mechanical strength (I daresay, they're stronger than your design.). I couldn't figure out any other way to do it and still make it fit into an XLR plug.

The heatshrink is polyolefin. The sound is glorious. The cost is ridiculously cheap. I just sold my AZ Silver RefII for more than four times what these cables cost to make, and I honestly believe mine are quieter (with no shield!) and sound better, with plenty of dynamics, depth, and detail, yet lots of warmth and no edge. If anything, I would say my cables combine the best qualities of the AQ Anaconda and the AZ Silver RefII I've used in the past; that's why I call it a homerun.

You should try building a cable with the OCC copper sometime: it's well worth its price.

Peace,
Tom E
