Nait2 tweak, need help

89.172.244.141

Hi,

I have just bought my second Nait2 and I when I compare it to my first one which I have had couple of years ago, this "new" one is much weaker, slower, mushier and somehow bland sounded although it have one year old new Rubycon 6800uF 35V caps, everything else is original.

My first Nait2 you can see without chassis here http://img518.imageshack.us/my.php?image=76053646pi5.jpg

I know, it look unconvincing, but these additionyl two pairs of big caps made this little amp the best amp I have ever heard in my life, believe it or not. I know, some of you may say that boosting a capacitance to this level is like having a bomb, but my ex modified Nait is really much much better. It is much more faster, it have had more control and sweeter less grain midrange than newer one.
n a days when I have had my first Nait2 I was been a fool that I didn't exam where the additional caps are actually soldered, so my question to you guys is what do you think (I cannot reach the person who modified it) did someone use four all additional caps to boost capacitance, or two for capacitance to work in paralel with current original caps and two more for current "cleaning" or do you believe that some other option is possible.

Just to say that I know for Martins Nait2 tweaks from Acoustica, but I would like to try to do an old tweak from my first Nait in my newer Nait. BTW, both Naits are same revision with H&F transformer.

I would appreciate any help or advice.
Thank you,
Oz
