Re: Sources for parts.

Here is where I got the parts:

Butyl rubber and aluminium sheets 2 x $14 plus S&H - http://www.acousticalsurfaces.com/hvac/duct_vmax.htm?d=26

FIM bearing blocks 3 for $89 plus S&H - http://www.gcaudio.com/cgi-bin/store/showProduct.cgi?id=325

Sorbothane footers - Big Blooz 4 x $6 plus S&H - http://www.tweakshop.com/BlackHolePods.html phone order only 707-575-8626

Lead shot - Knight Red Hot Magnum Lead Shot #6 $8.99 plus S&H - http://www.cabelas.com

Plexiglas 2 x $12 - local glass shop, they cut to 19"x13"
3/4" MDF $9 (for 1/4 sheet)- local lumber yard, they cut to 19"x13"
Spray adhesive $7 - local hardware store
Spray paint (flat black on MDF) - local hardware store

Pictures to follow, if we can figure out how.

The Bass Tube Traps are made from:
Knauf 1000degree pipe insulation - http://www.knaufusa.com/products/commercial__industrial/pipe_and_equipment_insulation/knauf_1000°_pipe_insulation.aspx
Purchased from Bay Insulation 425-251-6750 (ask for Scott)
$7.47 per foot, they are 3 feet long, 4x3ft plus S&H =$112
10" IPS, 1 " thick = approx 13" outside diameter
Cut 8 x 13" circles from 3/4" plywwod
Adhesive - construction glue (ie - Liguid Nails)
Covered with cotton batting (quilting) and than a cover of gray muslin, they look just like the commercial ones. My son took before and after SPL meter readings (140 readings, 25-200 hz, plotted room grid). They really smoothed out the room's peaks and nulls. Amazing. The four traps cost about $220 for everything.
