Re: Cathedral panels, bass bloat, and George Foreman...

I agree with this description.

Last week I received 4 Cathedral Sound Room Damping Panels (fast shipping to Italy). I noted the same effects: more controlled bass (but it's there, it does not disappear) and much clearer midrange response and scene focus. It's the first time that I use damping panels, but I can hear a significant difference. Room treatment can save you a lot of money from upgrading to more expensive electronics.

I have my system in a squarish room and I added some tweaks: some foam on the back wall near the head (I have a sofa attached to the back wall), some foam behind the hifi rack on the front wall, and a weith of 10kg on the basis of each target hifi speaker stand. I also employed suitable cables (custom Quadlinks for my Quad electronics). My rack shelves are made up of a layer of polyurethane and linden (tilia) wood, and I put a round weight of 5kg on the top of the Cd chassis exactly centered on the Cd spindle. This is to say that it's not a single tweak that works but the whole combination.

Cheers
Roberto
(I'm not connected to companies that make or sell these panels)
