Norsorex (polynorbornene) is a dense, closed-cell foam that absorbs vibration exceedingly well.It can be found in a variety of products, but more commonly available to us audiophiles as "Unhappy" or "Sad" balls from science experiment kits. They are called that because unlike Neoprene "super balls," Norsorex balls don't bounce.
Cut in half, Norsorex balls they make very effective vibration dampers. I've often thought a platform were made of a sandwich of Norsorex and aluminum sheet (a la Symposium's Svelte Shelf) would be amazing. Hmm... Just may try this!
