Re: FWIW

I had looked at those UPS's once before. Hey if you can afford 4 of them, go for it, I think it probably won't cause a problem in dynamics, but who knows. Part of what matters here is the impedance of the supply, and basicly no passive devices can really do anything to fix that. However a regeneration device or something that works like the Elgar can.

I have to say, if you can afford it, I think you would find that one of the 3000VA Elgar regenerators would do a good job. I mean, we aren't talking about voodoo magic here, what constitutes for better power is pretty easy to know. We want to reduce distortion, we want to remove any noise from the line that doesn't belong there, and we want to reduce the impedance, so that the amps can draw the current as quickly as it needs too. All the while without reducing the maximum current draw thats possible. Few devices can do this, especially ones that regenerate, which are too current limited. However, the Elgar devices, which were designed for high sensitivity lab equipment, will produce very quiet power, lower the impedance, and reduce distortion to less than 2%. We then could take such a device up a notch by adding a high end audiophile power cord, some higher end internal wire, and replacing some of the supply caps with either good X-rated caps for those who must, or auracaps for those of us brave soles.
