Tweaking Infinity Prelude MTS Towers

Not sure if this forum or the Speaker forum is the right place to ask. Wondering if anyone has done any mods, xover upgrades or tweaking to their Infinity Prelude MTS speakers. I have a pair of Prelude MTS Towers and will soon (hopefully) be buying a second pair for the surround on my HT system. The Towers I have sit on the stands that were designed for them by Infinity. Here is what I am planning so far:

* Got rid of one of the binding posts in the stand (not necessary and an extra connection). Soldered the Infinity supplied OFC wiring from stand binding post to a pair of WBT expanding banana plugs.

* Planning to solder the Infinity supplied OFC wiring on the Xover and on to the drivers (I use Cardas Quad Eutectic solder). To improve connection from the cheap spades they use in these connections.

* Musicoat the crossover parts. I have had excellent results in the past with this tweak.

* Will experiment with ERS paper.

* Considering replacing the binding posts (which I think are gold plated brass) on the stand and the bottom of the speaker. Minimum $80 (per speaker) to do this upgrade, I am not sure it would be worth the effort, what do you guys think?

* Anyone ever change any of the Xover components? Results? There are two crossovers in each tower. Would probably run $900+ to upgrade the entire Xovers per speaker, would have to go to outboard, and be extremely time consuming to do. So I do not want to upgrade the entire Xovers, but would be willing to do specific upgrades or enhancements.

* I will also examine for an airtight seal between the baffle and the enclosure and between the drivers and the baffle. I will mod as necessary. This is pretty easy to do.

Any other suggestions or comments on what I am planning to do? These are very nice speakers and would like to tweak or mod them if I can improve on them. Thanks so much in advance for any comments or suggestions.

Kindest Regards,

Chris
