Re: Speaker glue

Two thoughts come to mind:

Is the stuff you're talking about really clear, but looks black on black paper? The first thing I'd try is squirting some of what you normally use on dark colored paper to see how it compares when dry.

If the regular glue you're using is water-based, here's an old trick from another hobby that will work well for you: Mix a drop or two, not a lot, of black acrylic paint in with the glue. If it doesn't look dark enough for you, add a drop or two at a time, but be careful not to add too much or it won't set as strong as you'd want..

I know the stuff you're talking about though, and it feels like it has some kind of powder added to it for texture, and it feels more like egg tempera than normal glue to me. What it really is I have no clue.

You'd be surprised all the different substances that can be used for glue that don't say "glue" on the bottle. Like, uhm, acrylic paint medium, and egg tempera...
