Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |

Dear All,I am a new in DIY and I would think this is a very elementary question to you all but I would appreciate your assistance as I am bit confused.
I purchased some CREE Schottkey diodes (1 Amp, 600V, CSD-01060A, TO-220, 2-lead ) from Partsconnexion with the intent to upgrade rectifier diodes of my DAC kit.
mfg. spec. for this part is here: http://www.cree.com/products/pdf/CSD01060.L.pdf
I was also bit confused about them as when I used diode testing function my multimeter (fluke 110) to check them, between pin 1 and 2, the meter did not beep (to indicate if the diodes are good) in either of the directions (ie.does not beep) but pin2 and the case the meter did beep. Then I measured resistance between the two pins, the one direction has a resitance and other direction indicate that no conductivity.
I feel that this is due to the way my meter tests diodes and not because the diodes are bad. Am I right?
Also, there should not be any issues of only using pin 1 and pin 2 to connect to the circuit? Thanks for the help
