Most readily available bulk coax is intended for CATV installation purposes, and the materials are optimized for low cost, and acceptable RF video performance. Of course, it is very likely that if used for audio purposes, the sound will suffer due to the lousy materials.See:

where I talk about these issues.Some folks do offer a so-called premium coax intended for audio use, I believe Parts Express and MCM sell these, the MCM part numbers are:
50-2170, 50-2175 and 50-2180 (for different lengths).However, even these are not ideal, the MCM part numbers have a foil shield between the copper braid and the center wire insulation, this does adversely affect the sound a bit. However, this is one of the cheapest coaxes using teflon insulation I have found.
