I re-soldered all the pins before and it didn't help. It's damn cold in Michigan so initially I just put my frozen finger on the chip and it cured the problem (like Merlin heheeh) I'm asking because I know that some chips (amps) can actually work in failure
mode although not to the full spec .As to the sound mixed feelings ,I just replaced all analog stage with discrete fet opamp first in active and than passive I/V conversion. rest of the player is stock with all its insufficiencies ,bad PSU de-coupling and old caps.Sound??; nice textures and detail , weak bass, also little flat (sound-stage ). In general promising but for now not a real stellar.I'm very curious about Avondale mood to this player. As long as I know English mentality and the 500 BPG they charge for unit they don't spend lot of money on this mod and reported results are great so there is a hope.
