The easiest thing to do is get a medium sized 12 volt gel cell and a small car battery charger that is "automatic". Connect it in the usual manner and enjoy. If the charger makes it hum a bit turn it off when listening.You can use a regular car battery but it is hazardous due to the acid and hydrogen gas evolution.
