Somewhere below a few millivolts it will probably quit being a valid test but up to rated voltage for each pin should be fine.If the + and - 18V spec came from the absolute max ratings section of the data sheet they are probably toast. At any rate I probably wouldn't trust them for anything mission critical but this is just your stereo so you probably oughta let your ears be the judge if you can't afford the loss.
If you have a signal generator it can often be instructive to run a square wave through ther to see what comes out the other side.
