I also used the Audio Alchemy DAC for around 10 years. My version is DDE 3.0I do not know the version of your AA DAC. But if your DAC uses the CS8412 receiver chip, then I would recommend you to optimise the loop filter of CS8412 by the method suggested by Wildmonkeysects

If your DAC contains the PMD100 HDCD filter chip, a simple modification will bypassing the 6dB of attenuation on standard (non HDCD encoded) discs
