I also used the Audio Alchemy DAC for around 10 years. My version is DDE 3.0

I do not know the version of your AA DAC. But if your DAC uses the CS8412 receiver chip, then I would recommend you to optimise the loop filter of CS8412 by the method suggested by Wildmonkeysects

If your DAC contains the PMD100 HDCD filter chip, a simple modification will bypassing the 6dB of attenuation on standard (non HDCD encoded) discs
