I just used the OEM version of your kit for the first time. Not only is that a pretty beefoid and nicely executed small handpiece (compared to Nakamichi, Denon, Luxman, MicroMega handpieces of my history), it is absolutely the best working handpiece I have ever used!.You somewhere in the room you can't see the rig? Just point it at the back wall (or ceiling) and fire. You outside the room your rig is in? Just point that baby in the door and fire away!
I asked John about this (have you?), and he related that he had looked as well, and found two or three handpieces machined from a solid block of unobtanium for ten times the price, and they didn't work for sh!t. Take a closer look at the thing; yes, it's plastic, but it's very heavily made plastic, and the fit 'n' finish of the battery cover and buttons, the feel and working, the general vibe of the thing is modern manufactured Nice.
You want better than this? Limber up your wallet and be prepared to do some research.
