Is the fixed LT1085 a drop-in for the 7805???

Is the LT1085 a drop in replacement for a standard 7805???? Im modding my old marantz cd67, mostly for the learning expereince and for fun, im not expecting to much from this player its over 10 years old, yet sounds pretty good considering. Anyways it has a standard 7805 regulator that feeds three differant circuits, the clock, digital dac section and analog dac section. Now the best way to go would be to build a small board with three regulators and give each circuit its own. But thats a bit more work than I would like o try right now. So I was wondering if a higher performance regulator would help?? I aready have a bunch of them so it wouldnt cost me anything. You guys think it would make any differance???
thanks
