power amp damage inputs on sub plate amp?

hi, is it possible that my Onkyo 2 channel power amp could damage the speaker level inputs on my subwoofer plate amp? i've checked the dc offset levels on power amp outputs and i only have 4mv.dc left channel and 7mv. on right. my Parts Express SA240 watt rms plate blew the left channel input causing a noticeable reduction in output. did i just get a lemon? (lasted 30 days) or, is it possible my ONKYO M-282 2 channel (100wpc.) power amp caused the input to blow? the amp was never driven very hard. i have got the replacement amp which, i am now driving at line level inputs from an extra set of outputs of my Adcom GFP-565 Preamp but, seemed to have more output when driven at speaker level inputs. thanks for any advice!
