Re: Cleaning IC Socket Holes?

How about spraying some concact cleaner on an IC then inserting and removing it from the socket a few times.

Use an IC you don't care about so you don't have to worry about bending a pin.

I would just replace the socket if it looks dirty or oxidized.

Personally I would replace the socket with nothing and solder the chip directly in.

But if you are experementing with different IC's then I can understand wanting to keep the socket.
