DIY subwoofer amp/xover

I was given a subwoofer from an Altec Lansing ada880 PC surround system, its missing the surround speakers which have all the controls, volume, bass/treble, on/off...etc so i cannot get the sub to work. Im looking to scavenge parts from it to build a small active sub for my new LCD tv. The sub uses a 18x15x11in box made of 5/8in mdf, and 8in driver which looks to be of a good quality, an amplifier board which has 2xtda 7265 for the satelites and a single tda7294 for he sub, and a nice sized toroid tranny. Its alot beter quality than most of the PC speakers ive seen, i think it sold for almost $300 a while back. So wht Id like to do is scavene parts from this sub to build my own. I plan using the box and driver and then using the tranny and tda7294 to build myself a little amplifier. Anyone know of any schematics or kits for a simple pre/xover for a sub?? I just want a simple low pass around 100hz and a level control. Thanks
