Since I use and enjoy a modified (keyword) PS Audio UPC-200 power line conditioner with ''all sockets filled'' and don't find the same issue that you describe, I believe the issue is due to the sonic signature of PS Audio's stock Power Port AC outlet rather than the particular power line conditioner's filtering (or otherwise). PS Audio's Power Port AC outlet is a nickel plated Hubbell. Many folks have found the sonic signature of nickel plated AC connectors/outlets to sound unsatisfactory, and it's not uncommon for such to be replaced. I upgraded my UPC-200's stock Power Ports with Furutech and then Wattgate Audio Grade AC outlets for a far more open and natural/musical presentation. It made a huge difference for the better, IME. Even if you were to choose a more economical option and replace your PS Audio power line conditioner's stock Power Ports with bare brass (unplated) Hubbell AC outlets, you would eliminate the problem. just my 2 cents
