If you're running the chips with the stock 6V supply, then you need to change their load resistors (R35,36) to 150ohms. Then adjust the Vref to 3.3V or 3.85 MAX.The opamp must be removed as well. D/C'ing the opamp PSU ,leaving in the opamps and going passive, will sound absolutely awful.
