First, don't let the dB meter ruin the satisfaction of what your ears tell you regarding the treatment you already have.Second, the answer to your question depends on whether or not you are trying to duplicate a retail product, or have something more specific in mind.
Julien43 has already shared about the Room Tunes construction, which is effective in taming many typical room problems in the corner, primarily, slap echo.
However, if you wan to have them go down lower in absorption, then thicker and denser material will help, and you can maintian HF absorption by covering with a layer of less dense material, such as poly batting. Of course, the thicker and more dense you make it, the heavier it will be, and this impacts the mounting method, etc.
The space behind the device does not have to be air space, it can also be filled with an absorbing material, this will further aid the LF absorption.
