most of the sonic changes one hear with stands is not from better vibration damping, but rather, from the adverse effect of having metal close in proximity to your gears. having metal materials around will alter the timbre quality of your audio equipment.experiment:
place some metal items around your system, without actually touching your audio components. could be a screw driver, a piece of aluminium foil, an umbrella. listen to your system with and without them in the listening room.
