Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |

Folks:I have purchased an Onix XCD-99 player and am considering modifying it over the next few months. Underwood Wally and others offer a variety of mods for the XCD-99, but I'd like to do the job myself. However, I'm not sure which parts to upgrade (or which parts to use in the upgrade). Black Gate caps, Hexfreds and a better pair of RCA connectors are likely candidates, but can anyone suggest specific parts or other improvements?
The Onix XCD-99 is manufactured by Shanling, which also sells a very similar model to Music Hall (which they rebrand as the CD 25.2). Mods for the CD 25.2 are probably going to work on the XCD-99, but can anyone offer any pertinent advice?
Thanks,
Scott
