I am constantly experimenting with just about every product on the market in rooms ranging from almost closet sized to large theatrical spaces... the one consistent experience is that CORNERS are the worst offenders.... easily 2/3 of any room's harshness or un-musicality is corner honk... you might try those polyethylene cylinders (see the link below) that come in 70" .... these can be end glued and cut to fit with a long serrated knife so you have a cylinder that matches your floor-to-ceiling dimension... each 6 inch diameter piece will cost you $40.... which is one heck of a lot cheaper than a premium ASC tube trap and will give your room a much fresher, less congested sound without draining out the energy... this isn't so much to dampen bass energy, although the poly will absord a little, because polyethylene is closed cell it will be more diffusive...
