Jon does not need defense from the likes of me. I have built all sought of ICs, including twistwed pair, etc. I must admit I have not tried the mic cable you suggest.I must admit I like the sound of various CAT5 twisted pair. By far my favorite cable is JR's 89259/89248. This IC smooths the highs on my digital sources to just what I want to hear from my system. The straight 89529 is a close second IMO.
The the 89259 speaker cables have been in my system for 5 years or so, and I have never looked back. I have taken them out to try other topologies but I awalys go back to the JR 89259 twisted speaker cables.
I do not have the history as to what you and Jon have going as a beef and I don't really care. All I can say is JR's topologies have worked for me. I am willing to try other topologies. If you have specific recommendations you feel may be worthy of my building email me directly and I will give them a try.
