Dynamics

Actual dynamic content vs. what's perceived as being dynamic can be deceptive. Sometimes, what's considered dynamic is actually artificial. Glare often acts similar to what a psychoacoustic sound shaping device that generates over-excited harmonic content produces.

The most profound tweak I've experienced is an upgrade of stock B&W's binding posts with Edison-Price Music Posts (unplated 5-way binding posts milled from a solid block of tellurium copper), as the actual timbre of images are far better reproduced due to a rather massive reduction of glare. The result of this upgrade sounds substantially "less dynamic" vs. the stock posts.

Very similar observations have occurred when mundane rca connectors are replaced with high performance types. The cable tends to sound "less dynamic" yet far more pure. I prefer a more accurate rendering of dynamic content rather than what sounds "more exciting".

The same observations concerning how glare reduction affects percieved dynamics can be found when power line conditioners are placed in an audio system.

BTW, what particular make/model OFC 10 gauge and 12 gauge power cable, and what model P&S AC outlet? These factors just might make a difference...
