Xavier:I used to use the same exact Mapleshade setup as you. In fact, when I overhauled my system, I went from that to all SRA. So, I can't offer a direct comparison between the two. But a couple of friends of mine have compared both, and according to them, it's almost a night-and-day difference, which isn't really surprising, given the SRA's increased cost and R&D. In my experience, SRA's products are the absolute best of the best in isolation--and I've tried or heard MANY. I own their Craz rack, and all of my main components sit under Ohio Class XL+ platforms. All of them have contributed mightily to taking the fidelity of my system into a whole 'nutha realm. (FWIW, I directly compared the Craz rack to another highly respected rack, the Finite-Elemente Pagode Master Reference, and it was silly how much better the Craz was both sonically and in terms of build quality.) The company's custom approach, I believe, is one of the keys to their products' effectiveness. No one-size-fits-all approach can match it, IMO. I understand your trepidation about the company's custom-fit methodology, but they just announced that they're going to allow pretty generous trade-ins of their bases should you ever change a component. That should ease your mind somewhat. In addition, SRA offers something called the Tremorless platform, which, I believe, is a one-size-fits-all design. Though it can't reach the levels of the company's Ohio Class offerings, it's still an awesome device and probably betters most of what's out there. And it's quite affordable. Hope this helps. Good luck!
