Filters typically have inductors in series with the load and capacitors across the load.My experience with the InnerSound amp is that I can hear the bass consequences of using a dedicated AC circuit run in armored cable versus one run in heavier gauge plastic. The armored cable circuit was installed at a different time and has more cable between the outlet and the breaker box. It has more series resistance.
I expect this difference is less than the difference between having series inductors and not having them in a filter arrangement.
However, adding a parallel capacitor (hot to neutral) at the outlet helps with the InnerSound, even on a dedicated circuit. This does not restrict the current flow into the amp.
I don't want to recommend that you use a non X-rated cap for this application, but I only have experience with using 500-volt silver-mica capacitors or 600-volt Mylar capacitors. The silver-mica are superior.
