In my, incredibly limited, knowledge, the only way I see for these to work is as a low pass filter for vibration. the various couplings,(shelf to race, race to bearings contact, bearings contact to bearing housing)would allow certain Freq. ranges to be attenuated?? The O ring would reduce any chatter and damp the bearing. This is a simple guess. I'd love to hear more theories.
