...as they work on a different principle (some polymers change their colour when "recorded", against physical "pits" in standard CDs).Maybe your CDP laser lens is somewhat dirty, or maybe your laser unit has lost some power: try first cleaning the lens very carefully and then, if it still doesn´t read them, try checking the power output of that laser (you´ll need a tech man and some equipment to do that).
