you plan to condition the whole system?if you're interested in cleaning up power to the CD player, and that's probably where it matters the most, try the auricap tweak (seen Chris V's site for parts and instructions).
Adding two of those in my system provided unexpected good results, given I had the player already on an isolation transformer AND JR outlet box. Just two $15 caps and 20 mins of work, and my player lost just about all the harshness I had been fighting.
The same mod in my tube preamp didn't do anything I could tell, so you may still need consider some of the solutins you list for the analog parts in your system.
