Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |
|
The Monster HTS-2000 has been one of the better gizmos I've added to my system. For $133 shipping included (globalmart.com) it's a great value. I'd say it improved the sound around as much as adding the Monarchy DIP mk2 did (for a little less money), but in a slightly different manner. Whereas the DIP outright lowered the distortion in the sound, making it more pure, the HTS-2000 lowers the noise floor or to use a visual analogy increases the "contrast" in the sound. In my system it ranks just under the sand tweak ($10) and the ChrisVH DIY Cat5 speaker cables ($65) in terms of bang-for-the-buck improvement. I'm glad I spent my money on this tweak instead of replacing a component for an upgrade.
