Quad ESL & Marantz 8B

207.192.130.25

Hello All: a puzzler...I am using an 8B wired in triode to run the Quads off the 16 ohm tap. Marantz has a procedure whereby changing a few resistors in the feedback circuit one can drop the damping factor from 20 to 2,1, or one half. Question: since the amp is basically driving the audio tranny of the Quad (unlike driving the coils of most speakers) would it be advantageous to drop the damping factor to obtain more transparency? Anyone have any suggestions re: this?
TIA, Jay
